About EPCs
An Energy Performance Certificate rates a property's energy efficiency from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). EPCs are valid for 10 years from the date they were lodged.
Landlords in England and Wales must have a valid EPC with a minimum rating of Band E before letting a property.
The penalty for letting without a valid EPC is up to £5,000. Data is sourced from the government's EPC register and is updated monthly.
